How the EA tax works

Every time a card sells on the transfer market, EA keeps 5% of the price. The buyer pays the full amount, and you get the other 95%, rounded down to a whole coin. Nothing is taken when you buy a card or list it.

So a card that sells for 12,000 pays you 11,400. If you bought it for 10,000, your real profit is 1,400, not 2,000.

Your break-even price

To get your coins back, sell for at least your buy price divided by 0.95, rounded up to the next price the market allows. The calculator does this for you. Anything above that is profit.

EA tax questions

EA takes 5% of the price a card sells for. The buyer pays the full price and you receive 95% of it, rounded down to a whole coin. Nothing is taken when you buy or when you list, only when a card sells.

Take 95% of your sell price, then subtract what you paid. Buy for 10,000 and sell for 12,000: EA keeps 600, you receive 11,400, so your profit is 1,400.

It's the lowest price you can sell for without losing coins: your buy price divided by 0.95, rounded up to the next price the transfer market allows. For a 10,000 buy that's 10,750, because above 10,000 prices go up in steps of 250.

No. It's 5% on every sale, from a 200-coin fodder card to a million-coin Icon, which is why small flips need a bigger margin than they seem to.
