FC AutoBuyer vs ShortFUT. Free to try, then £7.99.

Both are browser extensions that snipe Buy Now listings. shortfuts auto costs $50 for the rest of FC 27. FC AutoBuyer is £7.99 a month, or £29.99 until EA FC 27 ends. Here's how they compare, including what we don't do yet.

If you're searching for a ShortFUT alternative, you probably want the same thing most traders want: a fast Buy Now sniper that stays inside your limits. We make FC AutoBuyer, so we're not neutral. What we can do is set out the facts from ShortFUT's own website next to ours, and be clear about where they're ahead.

FC AutoBuyer or ShortFUT: the quick answer

  • Want a free EA FC autobuyer for Buy Now sniping? FC AutoBuyer is a one-off licence key from £7.99, and anyone can sign up.
  • Need auto listing today? Both have it. Only FC AutoBuyer checks your prices first and refuses to start if a card could list for less than it cost you.
  • Care most about hard spending limits? FC AutoBuyer checks a max price per card, a run budget and a coins-to-keep limit before every single buy.

Pricing: a £7.99 licence vs a $50 licence

ShortFUT makes two extensions. shortfuts is a free keybind helper with hotkeys and a search-speed warning, with Premium at $3.50 a month or $30 for 12 months. shortfuts auto is the autobuyer. It costs $50 USD, paid once, for the rest of EAFC 27. The licence is tied to one Google or Edge account, you redeem a code at shortfuts.com, and their FAQ says there are no refunds.

FC AutoBuyer is a one-off licence key: £7.99 a month, or £29.99 until EA FC 27 ends. Nothing renews. Every feature on this page is live today unless we mark it "coming soon".

How each one runs

Both tools are browser extensions. shortfuts auto works in Chrome and Edge. FC AutoBuyer is a Chrome extension that runs inside the EA SPORTS FC Ultimate Team Web App in your own browser. There's no separate app, and it never asks for your EA password.

FC AutoBuyer also has a headless mode, so a run can carry on in a background tab while you use the rest of your browser. A standalone FC AutoBuyer app is coming soon. For the wider trade-offs, read Chrome extension vs app autobuyers.

Sniping features compared

What shortfuts auto lists

ShortFUT's features page lists sniping with a rules system, variable on/off intervals and search wait time, stop after a set number of cards bought, an auto-stop when multiple pages of results appear, Discord logs and pings on stop or CAPTCHA, sound cues, snipe screenshots and up to 10 saved profiles.

What FC AutoBuyer does

  • Two Buy Now modes: buy any card under your max price, or only the cheapest on the page up to a per-card limit.
  • Saved filters with automatic rotation, plus rating ranges and skip lists.
  • Randomised delays and automatic breaks so runs don't search at a fixed rhythm.
  • Alerts your way: Discord or custom webhooks, desktop notifications and sounds.
  • Hotkeys, headless mode and run history with stats for every run.
  • A compatibility check after EA updates the Web App.

We designed it so everything you need to set up a run is on one screen. Not sure where to start? Our guide to autobuyer filter settings walks through it.

Spending limits, a review before every run and auto-stops

This is where we made our strongest design choices. FC AutoBuyer has three hard limits: a max price per card, a budget for the whole run, and a number of coins to keep. It checks all three before every buy, not just when the run starts. Before each run, a review screen shows exactly what you're about to do.

ShortFUT's features page lists a stop after a set number of cards bought. A max-spend or run-budget setting isn't listed on their features page.

Hard limits in FC AutoBuyer are checked before every single buy.

FC AutoBuyer also stops itself on a captcha, a soft ban, an expired session or low coins. Our explainer on the transfer market soft ban covers why that matters.

Where ShortFUT is ahead

Being straight about this saves you time:

  • Relisting expired cards. shortfuts auto puts items that didn't sell back up. FC AutoBuyer lists every card it buys, but doesn't relist expired ones yet.
  • Bidding. shortfuts auto has an auto bidder, which ShortFUT describes as limited in features at this time. Bidding is next for FC AutoBuyer. Until then, see why we put Buy Now sniping ahead of bidding.
  • Edge support. shortfuts auto runs in Edge as well as Chrome.
  • Snipe screenshots. shortfuts auto lists snipe screenshots as a feature.
  • Track record. On the Chrome Web Store, shortfuts auto has 4.6 stars from 11 ratings and 885 users, and the free shortfuts helper has 4.5 stars from 771 ratings and 20,000 users. FC AutoBuyer is newer, and costs £7.99 a month.

Support and feature requests

ShortFUT offers support through Discord and email. FC AutoBuyer's support lives on Discord, and so do feature requests: players suggest what they want, and we build what's asked for most.
